Not waste free to me I always try to keep my bird feeders filled and have used waste free style from other brands for several years. I decided to try this brand because of the price and prime shipping. My initial problem with this was I could not use my funnel to fill because there are what appear to be unshelled pecans (or something similar?) in the mix that get stuck.
