The finches really love this seed mixture I have been purchasing this seed for quite some time. I tried at one time to put a different brand in the feeder and it was apparent that they did not like the change in seed. As soon as I put the Cole’s Finch Friend Seed back in the feeder, they were all over it!
Sunflower meats and nyjer seed attracts not only finches but lots of other birds The birds stay busy at the bird feeders with this mixture of sunflower meats (no messy shells !!), nyjer seed and canary seed. It attracts titmice, chickadees, pine siskins, house and lesser gold finches and many more.
Not all small seed I am used to getting finch seed composed of small black seed that easily fits through the holes in the feeder tube. This product has some larger white seeds. I will monitor the feeder to see if the finches can get the larger seeds.
