  1. Worms with your seed The last two times I’ve ordered this seed, I have found worms (Indian seed moths, as it turns out) crawling through it. The first time, I assumed it was a fluke, or even just a result of the seed sitting around awhile, as the bag of seed had been in my house for about a month. However, when I filled my birdfeeder from a brand new bag of seed, I found dozens of worms crawling through the seed. Very disappointing, especially since these particular worms leave a silk-like web behind, gumming up…

  2. Birds won’t eat this! I have many feeders in my backyard which attract many birds. I put this seed on a popular table feeder as well as a vertical feeder. The birds eat all the other seeds but leave these alone. Even the squirrels are not interested. Not sure why.

  3. Good product, not quite as good shipping (update, good shipping) Despite the negative review, I took a chance and I am glad I did. I have ordered three 25# bags of Shafer sunflower hearts, and all have been clean and my birds love them. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is that Osbo’s packing is a problem. The first shipment arrived with the bottom of the bag torn, which seems to have occurred in packing since the box in which the bag was placed was relatively undamaged. Fortunately the bag was tight enough within the box to avoid major spilling…
