Mix with njyer seed if you want small birds (and small critters?) I find that a mix of about 75% nyjer seed and 25% Kaytee finch food brings in a lot of small birds and fewer squirrels. And of the squirrels it does bring in, there’s a higher proportion of baby squirrels (maybe their mouths can handle chewing smaller seeds better than adult squirrels).
This stuff is like wildlife crack! 😛 This bird food attracts all birds and squirrels! I have filled my bird feeder at night and the next morning, the entire feeder is empty. I am sure the squirrels are raiding it at night. When I fill the feeder in the morning, I see all kinds of birds coming by to enjoy the feed. 🙂
Picky birds My finches enjoy this food. It’s not filled with color seeds like other brands so it’s less waist.
