Birds Love It Squirrels Don’t! That’s because our special blend is packed with natural ingredients that birds love and squirrels don’t! Birds love our premium white safflower seeds, but squirrels find them bitter tasting. Plus we added spicy chili peppers. Birds don’t have the spicy sensation when eating chili peppers, but mammals do. Chili peppers are a great source of vitamins and nutrition for birds, but squirrels and other mammals that do not like the fiery hot taste soon learn to look elsewhere for food. It may take some time to work, but visible signs that it’s working will include squirrels spending less time at the feeder, rubbing their faces and mouths and shaking their heads. We recommend an alternative feeding station for squirrels nearby to help distract them from your bird feeders.

Birds without Squirrels I am relatively new to feeding wild birds. I received a small bird feeder from the Amazon Vine program in part because I thought watching the birds would entertain my cat. The manufacturer advertised the feeder as squirrel resistant. Because I have had trouble with squirrels in the past, I sought extra protection from the pests in buying the bird food.
Squirrels hate this stuff — but birds aren’t exactly crazy about it This stuff definitely works. I have a terrible problem with squirrels in my backyard — not only do they gobble up any bird food I put out, but they destroy my feeders. I’ve tried so-called “squirrel proof feeders,” and some of them work for a little while. But squirrels are cagey, and they soon figure out any mechanisms designed to repel them. They actually tore apart a metal feeder I thought would be impenetrable!
this seed works. squirrels are messy… … this seed works.
