  1. My finches went AWOL!!! Do not buy these socks! I honestly don’t remember where I purchased these socks about a year ago. This is what I have observed since replacing the old socks. The finches started using the new socks and the socks held more seed than the previous socks. BUT over a period of time, my finches started disappearing.   2. Best Nyjer Feeder! I’ve purchased and used multiple Nyjer/Thistle feeders and I prefer this one. I have tried the round metal ones and other larger sock ones. This one seemed so small when I got it out but it works great and there is so much less waste than all my other thistle feeders. It is the smallest of my feeders but needs to be refilled the least because there is little waste. I ordered this sock in February of 2016 and retired it sometime around September I think– eventually the drawstring which I was hanging it by, disintegrated to nothing (I did not have any trouble with birds putting holes in the mesh.) I had very good luck with it in my Chicago yard– I have many images of Goldfinches enjoying it, and I even had Pine Siskins come through for a few days who were all over this sock feeder.
