  1. Will do in a pinch but not the freshest… I had been buying nyjer seed at my local Wild Birds Unlimited. I bought this trying to save some money. The package had a 1 inch cut on the side from shipping/handling, but I just considered that bad luck and taped it shut. I noticed whilst pouring the seed into the feeder that it was dustier than my usual nyjer seed. Also, the coloring was not as black as I’m used to seeing. I filled one nyjer feeder with this and the other with the Wild Birds nyjer. House Finches appeared to still like both…

  2. Great price for Quality Nyjer (Thistle) Seed Great price for quality nyjer (thistle) seed. Reseal-able, thick “plastic” bag. Very little ” cleaning” is required to pick out small “sticks” (look like wood) and a few larger “pearls.” I use a spaghetti strainer and it is not too time consuming. However, my happiness was short-lived. I filled the feeders, and hung them around, and now I have fewer birds than ever. None is a better way to describe it. I can only assume that it’s because of the dustiness of the seeds. Waiting for another delivery from a different supplier, and I will have to decide to either throw this all…
