Finches love it! Use blended ‘Black Oil Sunflower Seeds’ and save $$ on Niger Seed
Customer Video Review Length:: 0:44 Mins I bought this one and a Kaytee Feeding Station 2 after this one was constantly being devoured of seed.I got a sack of Black Oil Sunflower Seeds and put them through my blender.A cheaper seed to buy, lasts longer than and the Niger Seed and the Finches eat it up!!
The dome adds a lot of value. I was not sure if this would be worth the money, when compared to just purchasing the thistle socks as I usually do. My thought was; “did I really need the plastic dome?” The thing I like best about this feeder is how much easier this is to fill than the socks without the domes but a benefit that I didn’t anticipate was that the dome keeps the squirrels from hanging on the sock and chewing holes in the sock.
Easy Filling! As nearly everyone else says, the birds love these. The thing I love about these is how easy they fill. If you have ever tried to fill a finch sock with seed before you know there is always the potential for a mess. There is no mess filling these. A quick twist to release the latch and then slide the cover up the wire (it stays put), fill the sock and the top funnel for a bit of extra, slide the cover back down, twist to latch, done. No spilled seed.
