Definitely effective! This thing really works! I have a thistle feeder just outside my kitchen window and the fallen seed has been attracting chipmunks to such an extent that they started burrowing holes around our foundation – with a steady food source, they set up housekeeping nearby. I attached the tray and no more chipmunks! I had my doubts when it arrived because it’s much smaller than I expected (didn’t check the measurements), but it really makes a huge difference.
A must for your Droll Yankee feeder! In my opinion, this is a MUST! Not only does it catch seed that falls from the feeder, it drains well. I put extra seed in the tray to attract larger birds, birds flying by, and birds that usually avoid feeders.
