My Local Wild Birds Absolutely Love This Seed! I live in Palm Springs, CA. I have 3 or 4 different breeds of small birds which are native to the area that nest in the trees surrounding me. I first started putting this seed in a small bird feeder statue on my back patio. It has a lovely citrus scent and before long, it was attracting birds. I had from 6 to 8 regulars coming by to eat. Finches ate the whole bag in one day! The greedy finches who congregate at my bird feeders ate an entire bag of this seed mix in one day! They sure like it. I think I must have misread the description of the mix, perhaps it was meant for pet caged birds. If I buy it again, I will mix it with some cheaper seed as I can’t afford to feed the large local finch population with this. The house finches and purple finches ran off the only goldfinch I ever saw at the feeder. They fight off the house sparrows as well. One family…
Don’t recommend I bought for wild birds. They will eat this if there is nothing else (I mix with sunflower seeds, ect). I gave it 2 stars cuz of what seems to be microscopic organisms of some sort. I don’t know much about bird seed, but I read another reviewer that said he had problems with seeds containing bugs. So therefore, I would not buy again. I have bought an other products (seeds) from this company and didn’t have the same problem, so must be something in this mix.
