Perky-Pet 102B Premium Heavy-Duty Tube Feeder, 23-Inch I have this feeder in the 15 inch size also and it holds just a little less bird seed than this one. I get a lot of finches and chick a dees that love to eat off this. The Red headed wood pecker I get will eat off it too but only for a little bit as it seems to be a little unbalanced for his weight and size. I do have a red breasted grosbeck that comes and stays a few weeks and he eats off this one too. I didn’t think he would be able too because his beak is kind of like a miniature parrot…
Heavy-duty… and heavy This is a beautiful bird feeder and it seems to be well-made. It’s very tall – almost 2 feet! – and the 6 feeding ports are all offset slightly as they rotate up the tube (rather than in a line up the sides), which seems like a really good idea. I also like the idea of the U-shaped perches, although I’ll have to take their word for it that it’s “bird-preferred.”
