Patience “Grass” Hopper…And Oh, Lots Of WATER!!! ð§â³ð§â³ð§â³ð§â³ð§ We ordered the Pennington Smart Seed (Sun & Shade) in early April and followed the directions our landscaper suggested. Basically, the area we desperately needed to grow grass was bare dirt (left over from a construction project) so we tilled about 6 inches deep, sewed the seed heavily, and strawed the top. Then came the watering and more watering…and even more watering! Luckily May in the the Southern U.S. was wet so that helped as well. I will admit I thought it would never germinate…
So good it grows grass on asphalt This came in lush and thick in 3 weeks. There was a dusting of dirt on our asphalt and it even took root there. Highly recommended. Wish they made a hair seed.
Pennington grass grows great! I have had successful results with this grass! Pictures will show growth after first week and now about 10-12 days out. I started with no grass in back yard after very long winter so to see it fill in already is very exciting – I thought I would have to spend a lot of money and energy on sod – this is growing in mid-west in hot and very humid weather. The key to successfully growing the grass is you have to water every day!
