Didn’t work for me although I gave it a really fair try. I even took down the C&S for the duration of my test. Admittedly, the squirrels ignored the Browns but so did all birds.   2. Effective Squirrel Deterrent I have used a few of these in a suet cage in an urban area where squirrels consume entire standard suet cakes in one day. Since hanging these up, I’ve watched squirrels come and test it, rub their mouths, and move along – never to try again! This leaves the block free for the titmice, white-wing dove, blue jays (especially), and cardinals to enjoy along with a minimal number of house sparrows. 

  3. Dissapears quickly The song birds, but not the squirrels, love this. Robin, jays and other gobble this down pretty quickly and give me a chance to do some lazy bird watching.
