Ya gets what ya pay for. It’s taken a few years of bird-feeding, but I’ve finally learned that it’s more cost-effective to buy quality (but more expensive) feeders as opposed to constantly replacing el cheapos because they’ve degraded from the sun, parts have broken, they’re impossible to clean, or have become cloudy. Audubon feeders have none of those problems, plus they use some recycled components, so they’re “greener” than the cheapies, too. Audubon feeders are the easiest-loading feeders I’ve used as well. Pretty Well Made Not totally squirrel proof but certainly squirrel frustrating. I put black Oil Sunflower seed in mine laced with a hefty dose of cayenne pepper from the dollar store. Birds don’t mind the pepper at all but it annoys squirrels enough to just give up. It is easy to clean and easy to refill.
