Emphasis on the âheavyâ part… I had this very heavy pole at about a 60 degree angle and within 2 days and a bit of breeze it sheared the heads off 3 of the 4 screws holding it. Repaired with nuts and bolts. Definitely needs stronger screws. On a side note, the longer pole helps keep the raccoons away from the suet, feeder, or hummingbird feeder, along with my upgrade. Great solid bracket, use your own mounting screws. I liked this hanger so much that I bought another for the other side of the deck. It is sturdy and solid, looks and feels like it will hold up for years. I have a large bird feeder that can hold about 5 lbs of seed on the first one, and it bounces a little but is obviously not taxed at all by the weight.
