Birdola seed cakes are designed for the habits of wild birds. Our specially selected seed blends are help together with a protein binder so birds can peck their favorite seed and leave the rest of the cake intact. Best of all, Birdola is good for birds. It has a gourmet mix of premium seeds, with no “junk”, or waste seeds that birds simply kick out of a bulk mix (this includes oats, barley and wheatgrass). Our products provide simple solutions for both bird-watchers and their feathered friends. This feeder is similar to many suet feeders available, but with one distinct difference. Our feeder has fold-down perches. This patented design expands the variety of birds you can attract, because many birds require a perch to feed. Sold empty so the consumer can choose from BirdolaPlus , or any of our specialty wild bird feed cakes. Provide the perfect place for your feathered friends to perch for a bite to eat.

Not the worst, but far from the best I do not like this cake feeder for a number of reasons. First, it is too wide for the birds to get to the cake from BOTH sides. A 2 lb cake does fit in it, but it leans to one side or the other, make it difficult for the birds to get to all of the seed. Second, I don’t like the way the hanger works, as it is difficult to get the feeder to hang straight (and the birds might not care, but that is a pet peeve of mine). I have another cake feeder that is the right width and has a large wire handle…
easy to use large cake feeder Simple, easy to use large cake feeder. Love the drop down perches for the perching birds to use and it’s large enough for the clingers to hold onto. Great price and quick shipping seals the purchase. Thank you Amazon.
yay!!! door stays closed!!! the door to this feeder stays closed because the weight of the animal (in this case a squirrel) will keep it closed. There’s also the fold down perches which is great for the birds especially the littler guys. Of course the squirrels have knocked one off already so they dangle from the top of the seed cage while nibbling at the cake and everything they don’t eat(seeds) falls down to the gathered birds. The birds and squirrels have it worked out amongst themselves.
