It’s Simple. It’s Study. It Works The title says it all. It’s simple. It’s study. It works. The birds appreciate getting their morning drinks and baths from our backyard fountain. Before installing the unit, I wanted to make sure it would not waste electricity by keeping the water unnecessarily warm. Sitting in a bowl of cold water with some ice added the header did not function. With most of the water poured off and more ice added it went to work. Perfect!
Great product, well-made I purchased the API 250D De-icer for use with the RentACoop 5 gallon Poultry Waterer. It fits just fine in the bucket, and with the cord threaded up through the small screw-on cap of the waterer, I can still keep the bucket lid on so the water stays clean. The De-icer has been doing its job to keep the waterer ice-free even through our uncommonly cold winter, with temps in the single digits. Works great, a well-made product, would definitely recommend or purchase again.
Sturdy, functional winter solution for bird bath / fountain I live in zone 8. I have a small 2-tier water fountain that the birds take baths in. Even with the fountain running all the time, the heater was able to keep the water at the correct temperature. The water ran freely all winter, and I didn’t really notice a higher electrical bill. The birds really appreciated having running water in the fountain when the regular bird bath froze over.
