It Works A BIG raccoon moved into the woods behind my house recently and took to climbing the pole for my bird feeder and helping himself to the seed. The domed squirrel baffle that kept those buggers out did nothing to stop the raccoon. He just reached over it and grabbed the pole above it and pulled himself up. Stops the raccoons, but was loud This finally stopped the raccoons, but really make sure you put it high enough. We started by placing it too low (only about a 2 foot gap between the bottom of the baffle and the grass) and they jumped right up it. So the good news is that we don’t have them eating our bird seen anymore, but the bad news is that the feeder is so high up that we can’t see the birds through the window anymore.
