The Squirrel Slinky is a pole mounted predator guard. Squirrels, raccoons and other climbing critters can’t gain any headway when they try to climb over a squirrel slinky. Fitted with a high tensile spring, when weight is put on it, the Slinky lowers toward the ground. Squirrels and raccoons are not comfortable climbing onto a moving pole. If they get far enough to move their weight from the Slinky to the pole above, the Slinky rises and pushes their paws off. Simple and effective. Use for pole mounted bird feeders and Nest Boxes. Don’t Waste Your Money I bought 3 of these last year. They worked okay last year, but this year the squirrels figured out how to get past them. I relocated them up and down the pole, without success. Spend you money on the better and cheaper “Torpedo” or “wrap around” styles. These work. The Droll Yankee Slinky does not.
Sorta, Sometimes Works This little gadget seems to have potential, but I just now watched a squirrel jump up past it, grab the pole and climb to the top. It works if they try to come at it from the bottoms and climb up, but the little buggers can jump better than the NBA.
