  1. These Are The Best Tree Guards I’ve Tried I’ve used tree wrap, those white plastic spindly things and chicken wire fencing. These ArborGard trunk protectors performed the best. I use these for fruit trees in my orchard. I like the fact that you can connect multiple ones together to suit larger trunk trees. Now I can use the string trimmer without worrying about damaging my fruit trees. These do a great job in protecting the trunks. A pain to snap together These protectors will do the job but I found them overly cumbersome to snap together with no way to taper the diameter into a slight cone shape so that they fit securely around the trunk at both the top and bottom. I ended up using garden fence wire instead and was able to cut it to the exact length needed and fasten it securely using cable zip ties rather than snapping together 3 or 4 of these things which was clumsy; additionally, some irrigation drip line stakes worked better for securing…

  3. Very Difficult to Snap Together Purchased twelve of these to protect three trees in my front and back yard. I encountered a lot of difficulty in snapping the two sides together once the device was around the tree trunk. In the end I used a pair of needle nose pliers to force the two ends together so that they would not separate over the winter.Had I to do it again, I would have ordered the longer black tree trunk protectors.
