  1. Very Difficult to Snap Together Purchased twelve of these to protect three trees in my front and back yard. I encountered a lot of difficulty in snapping the two sides together once the device was around the tree trunk. In the end I used a pair of needle nose pliers to force the two ends together so that they would not separate over the winter.Had I to do it again, I would have ordered the longer black tree trunk protectors. More expensive however much easier to install and you can cut the black units down to fit…

  2. Not great but doable Don’t let the picture fool you. I read other reviews but decided I wouldn’t have the same issues. Well I did and I didn’t. It is very short, but that’s ok because saplings are usually short and you do want your tree to stick out above. It says it expands, but it’s rolled like paper towels on a roll, so even when it’s unrolled it wants to stay rolled since it’s plastic. It is pretty firm plastic for how thin it is. The snaps are just wider that you have to shove into the holes that is not easy…

  3. OK but several concerns about these Works well for medium trees but not as well for tiny trees. You need to use something to make the tree protector stand on its own if you are using it with a very small tree. Also the tabs are a bit too large to fit into the holes.
