Excellent Reference! I have most of the Texas wildflower books and really like this one. Small enough to take along on trips, nice quick reference, and it has most of the wildflowers in and around the state, including some non-natives which grow wild here and there. The flowers are in color groups which makes it easy to find what I’m looking for. Very pleased with it!
Well Organized and Helpful While this guide is far from all-inclusive (Texas has a lot of wildflowers), it seems to cover the most common and frequently seen ones. I appreciate the fact that it is organized by color. The whole point of a field guide is to enable identification, and guides that are organized by botanical family make the process considerably more difficult. If I know the family, I don’t need the guide. The photographs are large enough to show some detail of the leaves and stems, which also is helpful…
