Definitely a good bird guide Definitely a good bird guide. I first saw it in a bookstore, and I wanted to get it since then. Very clear and beautiful photos arranged really well too. However, as someone who owns bird field guides from three different authors, I say that the Audubon guide is a must-have, but should not be the only bird book you have, if you are a serious bird watcher. It’s really good for studying birds when sitting indoors, but the big Sibley guide is the best for identification.
If you love birding it’s a great book but.. I love the book. I got my first copy around 1980. I’ve been through three of them. Tramping through the woods, rain and shine, is not the healthiest place to be carrying, reading a book. Transferring my Life List is becoming more and more tedious. But that’s a good thing! Great memories…!
Outstanding Guide for Everyone This is the guide, and this is the first of the recently updated editions. For those who like a reference they can hold in their hands, it doesn’t get any better. Used in conjunction with the Audubon app it is really all you need to start identifying birds in the field.
