This book gives detailed accounts of 105 species of birds that can be expected in Kansas on an annual basis. As well as showing the identifying features of the bird, each species account also describes the bird’s character traits. Information includes key identification markers, size, voice, status, habitat, nesting and illustrations of similar birds. Each account also includes a full-color illustration of the species and a range map.

- Compact Guide to Kansas Birds
Poor quality photos and illustrations Doesn’t help with identifying birds. Lousy photos and illustrations. Has some useful information but not much. A birder friend recommended Sibley Guide to Birds and I got it and wow, what a difference! The best bird book ever. I have five bird books now and it is the only one worth having. It costs more but you get what you pay for.
Five Stars Great book
Good Reference on Kansas Birds I’m new at bird feeding in my backyard and find this guide useful to identify the birds that visit my feeder. Interesting information.
