  1. I want to enjoy finding out about my new home area species and … Needs more color photos. I’ve only spotted 5 birds in our area that I can find in the book. Map of where to find which birds is very helpful. Just wish I could find a more area specific book. Excellent bird guide for Washington State I have been using the same Washington State Bird guide from National Geographic for several years (and don’t get me wrong…I love it, it has been a great guide, a bookish friend to me).   3. Appreciate the Details Perfect for Washington State as I don’t have to search through as many birds to find what I’m looking for. Great grouping by bird type. The details describing the actions and behaviors has helped greatly to eliminate birds that were otherwise similar in appearance.
