great little book! I am new to bird watching, and basically purchased this book to help me identify the birds that are visiting my bird feeder. It is a great size, smaller than the average book you buy, and I love how it is organized. All you have to do is flip to the section of the appropriate color that is most dominant in the bird! A very easy to use guide Having just moved to Maryland, we were curious about the birds that we were seeing in our back yard and at our feeders. A friend in Ohio showed me his edition, specific to Ohio, and I ordered this book on Maryland birds.
Can actually identify birds with this book. Most guides have so many entries that it is impossible for a beginner to use. My 6 year old grandaughter has been easily able to identify birds coming to my bird feeder with this book.
