  1. An essential bird guide for those interested in birds and traveling, staying, or living within Europe. This is an excellent bird guide for Europe. I was recently in the Netherlands as well as Belgium and sighted and took photos of many birds, several which I did not know and was not able to find the ID for. I ordered this book and was able to identify them using the book and my photos.

  2. Comprehensive field guide great illustrations and very helpful text descriptions I bought it for an upcoming bird photography trip to Hungary. Something new for me as I live in the USA. Very pleased with it. It’s small enough to carry into the field. Inevitably, a reasonably small book covering this area will be something of a compromise – I pretty much need some sort of magnification to read the text and to enjoy the illustrations. Twenty years ago, probably not!

  3. In a Class of its Own, Really A super guide, and the newest English edition based on a Swedish original which has been translated into 13 languages and which has sold nearly three-quarters of a million copies.
