  1. Disapointed in Arkansas. I am very disappointed in this book. Author says of over 400 birds of Arkansas he has chosen only about 120 of these birds to put in his book. Had the description on Amazon told me that I would never have bought it. It comes nowhere near identifying the many kinds of birds I have on my property alone. Much less the ” birds of Arkansas”. Also is a very small book I don’t consider worth the price.

  2. A Great Resource for Home Use We purchased this book to identify the birds feeding on our back deck in NW Arkansas. The book is easy to use, with birds grouped by color of both male and female. It is so easy and helpful to use. We’ve had a great time naming the many birds that make this part of the state home. Well done, Stan Tekiela. The photos are colorfully clear and the descriptions are great. Highly recommend.

  3. Concise and informative It was a gift for my daughter and she loves it. I chose it because of the color coded ease in finding the bird as well as the identification material and pictures. There are pictures of seasonal changes in plumage, which can be quite different in some species. As a bird watcher myself, I felt this was a very good balance between knowledge and the convenience of carrying it with you.
