I had owned a later publication from the mid-to-late 60s that had a mishap relating to a cooking incident (my book is always handy in the kitchen to identify the birds at the feeders, but I won’t go into that). This was commissioned by the Texas Department of Parks and Wildlife intending to be a very inclusive book. It had descriptions of visitors from Mexico that other books don’t, (Mexican Duck with the details to tell it from a Mottled Duck).
