This is one of the least expensive birdhouse kits on Amazon that I found, and it’s actually pretty decent – and a normal sized bird house.Wood is thicker than I would have thought, does not require tools to assemble, and pretty easy to assemble. All the pieces fit together with pegs. We will probably use wood glue (not included) at the seams to keep it together. Great starter project for kids This was just what the doctor ordered. I have four grandsons, three years to ten years. I wanted a small project to introduce them to woodwork, to simple projects and to tools. I bought them each a small hammer (tack hammer) to begin their lifetime collection of tools. Fun to do! Needs a bit of help to make even better. Read on… Very cute. Super easy to assemble which my 3 year old nephew helped do. It definitely needs wood glue or it quite likely to fall apart in no time. That and the paint is the reason I gave it only 3 stars. The paint brush is tiny. The paint is not as easy to wash off your hands as you would expect for a kids project – so just keep that in mind. Wear gloves, a smock, or cruddy clothes.
