Stovall Ultimate Bluebird box with viewing window and copper in 1-1/2-inch universal entrance guard for squirrel chewing protection. Appropriate for wren, black-capped chickadee, tufted titmouse, white breasted nuthatch, violet green swallow, bluebirds, tree swallows. Grooves in wood below entrance for young to use to exit. Easy clean out/good ventilation to use as functional garden accents. Both vertical sides open like doors. The right side has a clear plastic window inside the wood door, so you can peak into see the nest without disturbing the inhabitants. The left door easily opens for seasonal cleaning, a single pin can be twisted to unlock and swing the door open. To lock, simple twist the pin. Providing a nestbox in your backyard will bring you seasons of enjoyment as you watch these beautiful birds raise their young. 14-3/4-inch by 6-3/4-inch by 9-inch. Stovall products feature all cedar construction, stainless steel and dichromate plated screws, washers, hooks and chains, hand sanded, assembled with screws, many products coated with wood protector which accents the wood grain and the natural warmth of cedar. Environmentally green practices – hand sorted down graded lumber. The Shop is heated with scrap wood, cooled with natural shade and insulation, nestled in a glen among 25+ acres of beech/maple/oak forest.   1. Sheer joy to watch chickadees raising a family This was put up on a metal garden pole near our back porch on the south side of our house. We put it up in April, after the house sparrows had already settled in to their nesting sites. In May, two busy chickadee parents raised seven little ones. By opening the side door with the plexi panel inside, I was able to photograph the little ones without disturbing the nest. I made sure to not photograph them as they got near to fledging. OUTSTANDING CRAFTSMANSHIP AND DETAILS While I love this beautifully crafted uber-safe bluebird house with awesome cleaning and viewing features, the jury is still out as to whether the bluebirds do. I was thrilled to see a male approach it a few days ago and attempt to enter, but unfortunately he didn’t seem able to get through the opening and instead sat on top for awhile before flying away to never be seen again.   3. Almost Perfect but for a couple fixable things On the positive: the design and the price of this are excellent, and I like that it’s made in the USA. The hinges are larger than shown in the photo, which makes the doors even more sturdy. On the negative, the copper lining of the doorway is cut pipe and it’s sharp. I had a contractor at my house (he thought it was sharp too) and he suggested using a threaded screw to file the metal smooth, which we did. He installed a 4×4 post in concrete for this birdhouse, and we used the one nail hole…
