Great Barn BUT: DOES NOT work with triangular pole!!! Even though the description says it will work with various poles, apparently it will ONLY work with the S & K RP19 pole (a 1.9″ diameter round, steel, 12 ft pole). I even called the manufacturer S & K to confirm this. Not too happy about that – I already bought an adapter for the triangular pole (used by other S & K martin houses) for $25, which is now useless AND I have to shell out an additional $70 for the SR19 pole. Great house! This house is great. The house is very easy to raise and lower on the S&K pole with the pulley system which is pretty much a must for this house. I lower and raise this on an almost daily basis to clean out a sparrow that keeps building. Also I am getting my martins used to me doing this action. There are a lot of perches for them, and they really like the “antennas” on the top to sit on. The doors are easy to open and unlike my old house, the doors actually stay closed in the wind. My old…
this is a very good martin house Okay……I have read everyone’s reviews on this martin house……and I have to put my thoughts in. First of all, for the price, this is a very good martin house. As they say, you get what you pay for. If you want a really long lasting design, then expect to pay several hundred dollars more than the S&K design. If you store this house during the winter and put out only during the nesting season…..it should last for years. I have this design, and my martins love it. Plus, the 1.9 pole…
