needed protection for wooden birdhouses It fits, it’s the right size, easy to install, albeit a little pricey.Previously I bought birdhouses with metal protectors which cost more, so I decided to get bargain birdhouses without them. Now I know why I needed the metal protectors. Every birdhouse has their holes starting to be chewed out by “somthing.” This will put an end to it and restore my 1.5 inch hole.
Sturdy, install easily I recently purchased several new bluebird houses and am determined to not let the squirrels and larger birds gnaw on the holes, enlarging them to the point that any critter can get in them. I had looked at the Kettle Moraine Copper portals before and now I have finally bitten the bullet and ordered four of them.
Otherwise both bird houses look good. It occurred to me after I put the metal piece on the opening that during the summer if the sun make it hot, it might burn the birds feet. Has anyone had a problem in this area? Otherwise both bird houses look good.
