Dakota Alert is a small family run business that has roots deep in the South Dakota prairie. Years ago, we were interested in being able to know when someone was driving up the lane. This search has led us to produce several different types of driveway alarms to meet the needs of our customers. Being raised in farm country has also taught us to respect our neighbors and treat them fairly. This lesson also applies to our customers. We intend to keep our customers satisfied by offering quality products at reasonable prices and backing it up with top notch customer service.

Perfect cover for my driveway alarm We recently moved to a house with a 1200 foot driveway that winds through some woods before reaching the house. Since moving in, there were many times when I was surprised by the UPS man (thanks to Amazon Prime, he visits often), the mail man, neighbors, etc., because I had no clue they were approaching until they were knocking on my door. Quite a change from our city lot where there were generally no surprises. So, we purchased the Dakota Alert Long Range Alert System Kit (DK-MURS-BS-KIT)…
Worth the price – suggestions for use and assembly You will read from others that this item needs work, the boards are warped, parts don’t fit, and it is cheap and all that stuff. The good thing is that it IS cheap. It is worth purchasing. I do carpenter projects continuously and I could do it better…but not more cheaply. It fits the PIR sold for it perfectly and it looks pretty much like a bird house; it protects the sensor unit and disguises it from nosy passersby. However, unless the local birds have digital TV it is hard to figure…
VERY NICE – but prime them if you are going to paint them My mother got several MURS driveway alert transmitters for each driveway to her property and we purchased the birdhouse(s) to hide them in and set them in an area that was discrete. It works well.
