This blend is fresh, clean, and my birds love it! I bought this, primarily, because I was tired of sweeping up shells & having weeds sprout all over my garden. I wasn’t sure what seeds were in the blend so I bought it at Home Depot first for the same price. It seems to be a high quality bird food, it smelled fresh and was clean with no insects, webs, or dust.
Great for a balcony I live in a condo and there is a balcony. I feed the birds every morning, just a half cup, outside the balcony rail. It’s fun for me, and my indoor cat enjoys watching all the birdies. Not a completely shell free mix, but close enough. Small seeds do have hulls which are not eaten.
Very nice not having shells to sweep up I’ve seen blue jays, chickadees, and other as our feeder since we started using this seed. There’s still a mess because the birds fight over the seed, but they eat eventually. Very nice not having shells to sweep up.
