Mix water and sugar in the ratio of 4:1, boil and wait for it to cool down completely before pouring it into the feeder.

Great Feeder! Nicely packaged, looks beautiful, had hummingbirds feeding by the 3rd day. For nectar use 4:1 water, white sugar mix and change after 4-5 days with a fresh mix. NO food coloring. After a week there are now 5 different hummingbirds coming to the feeder. Going to buy some more!
Looks like art! This feeder is so pretty. The hummingbirds seem to not use the old one as much. This sparkly one has little perches so they can rest to eat, my old one doesnât. I love it!
Beautiful But Leaks – even the replacement leaked I really wanted to give this company 5 stars. The glass bulb is beautiful, thick and well made and didn’t fade in the sun like the solid red color glass feeder I already have. It received so many positive reviews. But…. the bottom plastic part and the seal are very cheaply made and my liquid constantly leaked.
