In order to prevent damage and leakage, do not screw the bottle onto the base too tightly. Screw it on until it just touches the base and then stop. It does not require a tight seal since the nectar flows from the mouth of the bottle into the base.

It is beautiful and easy to hang up It is beautiful and easy to hang up. I have only had a few birds so far but I am hoping they will swarm it by mating season. The blown glass work is gorgeous. I liked it so much I bought 2 other feeders that were different styles.
