Only ideal for larger size hummers, no BPA, easy to clean I own a glass feeder, and a highly-recommended polycarbonate feeder that has very similar design to this one. I do take into consideration of keeping hummingbird feeders free of BPA, so it was necessary to replace the other polycarbonate one. Droll Yankees’ seems to attract hummers rather quickly. Poor design We have used a Droll Yankees model LE for years and our local Anna’s hummingbirds love it. The feeder was looking old and tired when we saw a description of the model LF-4. Wanting the best for our little friends we bought the LF-4. Our hummingbirds tried feeding at the LF-4 for a couple of days and then they gave up. We noticed that the ergonomics were all wrong; the adult birds could only reach the feeding holes (while sitting on the perch) by stretching and arching their necks. We…
I really want to like this – but my hummers do not. 🙁 I really do not want to give a mediocre review on a product made by Droll Yankees, a USA company that makes products in Connecticut. I truly hate to do this. Perhaps if I did not already have the inverted bottle type hummer feeder out, my hummers would have taken more of a shine to it.
