  1. Attractive and PERMANENT! I have been so dissatisfied with feeders made of glass that also have important plastic parts which eventually break, and that makes the entire thing useless. But the heavy weight of these, nearly twice as thick as anything else I’ve encountered, ensure that breakage is unlikely and there are NO plastic parts with this model.   2. A Perfect Little Feeder It is made of strong black iron with a a thick clear glass bottom and a thick red glass top with holes. Nice and sturdy so you don’t have to worry about breaking it. It also is so easy to clean and refill. The other one that I have had for years is very cumbersome to take down and clean. A real pain in the neck. This one is just what I wanted and it is beautiful.

  3. Best feeder ever! Not only is it very attractive compared with the other hummingbird feeders available it’s all glass so no horrible chemical leaching into the nectar solution. If the bees become too curious and try to compete with my bird friends I simply use a small paint brush and put a very thin layer of mineral oil around the ports, but not touching the ports. Bees don’t like the feel of mineral oil on their little paws. (I do the same for my oriole feeders as well. Ants won’t walk on cinnamon powder so use…
