Perfection! I live on the coast of Maine and hung my first bird feeder in February of 2011. Even though there have always been birds here, even I was surprised at how many descended upon my one rather overwhelmed Brome Squirrel Buster Plus. I immediately purchased more seed feeders but I was caught off guard when a male Ruby Throated Hummingbird landed in my yard on a damp chilly day in early May. He looked at me and his expression seemed to say ‘I just flew all the way here from Central America. Where’s MY food?Of course, I was completely unprepared for him. So, I ran off to the store and discovered the Hummzinger High View. It seemed like a very well thought out design, and it looked to be of high quality. But how would my hummingbird like it? Well, not only did he use it, he often simply sat on the elevated perch for long periods. Soon after, the females began arriving. Occupy HummZinger This hummingbird feeder is better than expected! In SoCal the hummingbirds are with us year round so I bought this feeder in November to entertain my cat, and it’s ended up entertaining both of us. It turns out that hummingbirds are little thugs! One male (Anna’s Hummingbird) in particular has decided to occupy this feeder, so he spends his days sitting on the rim and chasing off other birds while chittering constantly. I might have to get another feeder to satisfy the others, since they almost never get a chance to feed on this one.The HummZinger is sturdy, with solid plastic design and brass hanging rod. It is easy to fill and comes with a recipe for homemade nectar (1/4 cup sugar in 1 cup water) that won’t poison your hummers. It is easy to clean (don’t use soap!
