Not designed well… It is made really only to hang. But, it is too large/heavy to function well hanging.Mounting on a pole requires you to add a bottom board to attach the mount to.The screen floor is not simple to remove and clean. I have to take it off the pole and remove the plexi-glass to get the screen out. with another brand you can simply slide the screen out.Otherwise the material and construction is very good…just not functional.
Awesome. Extremely well made in my opinion (of course – made in the USA) My birds love to eat from an open platform feeder which I try to fill each morning and add a little in the late afternoon. I do not have a problem (yet) with squirrels or other creatures. However, rain ruins the food in the open feeders and I needed a feeder to take care of the birds when I can’t be there to feed. Very happy with quality of this feeder We get a fair amount of wind here, but the feeder is heavy enough that it doesn’t just slide around on the string it’s attached to. Seed stays dry. Very easy to take apart and clean as well, one of the clear plastic sides that makes up the seed bin slides out and the other one can be reached, the seed grate on the bottom comes out easily as well to be rinsed off. It would be easier to fill if the part of the roof that swings open would stay in an upright position, so you could keep it open…
