Rugged, will last This is a sturdy, heavy and well built base for a pole. It worked like a charm for a bird pole. I was tired of my poles blowing over in heavy winds. I got a sturdier gage pole and this device. It screws into the ground as deep as you want. You get what you pay for and this was the best price I could find for this level of quality.
Stability I purchased this along with other similar components to use as a platform for a Cardinal nesting box. The corkscrew design made it easy to put into the ground and it does provide the needed stability. Product is well made and I expect that it will last for many years. I have no problem with recommending this product.
Read the description before ordering! I have returned this item since it didn’t fit my 1″ pole. I thought it would have had threads so attach the pole, but it is just a 1″ hole. I didn’t see any way to attach a bird feeder pole to it. I’m disappointed because I wanted the corkscrew base, and I am having trouble finding anything I can use on my existing pole. (We attempted to move a previous pole and the base broke off, so now I need the ground anchor)
