Good product….could be even better with a small seed tray. This is a good product with a good design. I am always concerned about the longevity of bird feeders with “plastic” tubes as a main component but my Yankee Droll feeder has lasted 22 years thus far.One improvement that this feeder should have is a small seed catcher tray on the bottom to hold any uneaten seeds. It bottom component is drilled for one but I have been unable to find one as an option or add on (like the Yankee Droll).Worth the money….the birds do like it!
Look at the Finches feeding I bought two of these feeders and have one week of experience. They look good and they attract Finches – see the picture. I have had scrub Jays land on the feeder, but they quickly lose interest. A benefit for me is the feeder can be bottom mounted – there are four 5 mm threaded through holes in the bottom so it wasn’t tough for me to mount them on the stand you see in the picture. There is so much feeding that the seed will only last about a week.
Costly Leaky Bottom This very good Finch type feeder which is the best I have tried, certainly better than the sock type or Yankee type that costs more than its worth. However it failed to garnish a 5 star rating because of 3 useless holes that exist in the base which permits the thistle to drain out the bottom and its cost. This exact feeder can be purchased locally for $7.89 whichis about one half the online price.
