The Best Suet Feeder
The Stokes Select Two Cake Suet Buffet holds two suet or seed cakes offering a variety of feeding options to birds. The innovative grid design allows Woodpeckers, Nuthatches, Chickadees and more to cling. The double-locking closure system keeps suet secure in feeder. In early spring fill with pet fur or yarn for nesting materials for birds. In the summer months fill with orange halves. Durable, tight-fitting powder-coated top and bottom withstand the elements and blend well with any backyard décor.
What is a suet cake?
Bird suet is comprised of fat, nuts, seed and other ingredients and formed into solid cakes of bird food which are used in suet bird feeders. Suet provides a high-energy, high calorie food source for wild birds during the cold fall and winter months when seeds and insects are scarce, as well as the nesting seasons of spring and summer. Suet is especially enjoyed by woodpeckers, cardinals, wrens and bluebirds.

Birds love it better than upside down feeder I got this after noticing that some of the bigger woodpeckers couldn’t find or use my upside down suet feeder. Shortly after hanging this, it was woodpeckers galore in my backyard again. The vertical feeder with a bit of roof adequately deters less acrobatic birds (sparrows, house finches, etc) and I mostly see titmouse, chickadees, goldfinches, woodpeckers, etc using the feeder. The double sided feeder allows braver smaller birds to access the other side while a large woodpecker occupies…
Excellent Feeder Nothing but good things to say about this suet cage. The birds took to it much sooner than expected and there’s constant action at this feeder. I haven’t seen any birds having trouble getting to the cake – even the tiny bushtits and kinglets can get their fill.
Simple and effective suet feeder! This simple feeder works beautifully. It holds two cakes (with a divider in the middle, so each cake is accessible from only one side). The roof is just the right size for helping protect the suet without interfering with feeding. Both large and small birds feed easily from this feeder.
