Proven squirrel proof I gave this feeder to my mother as a Christmas present. She wanted a feeder that her many squirrels couldn’t break into. Well, they have been giving it the old college try since Christmas, and working very hard at it; but they have not been able to crack the case.Nor have they been able to get any seed. I would highly recommend this feeder.
help for the cardinals I love watching the cardinals feed, but as 2 other reviewers noted, the cardinals don’t seem to do well with the little perches on this feeder. They also seemed a bit confused as to how to get to the seed; they would grab onto the wire cover and peck at the plastic tube which holds the seed. I solved this problem by breaking a bamboo garden stake into 5″ lengths and using two small cable ties to attach them to the existing perches. The perches sit at a 90 degree angle to the feeder…
