  1. Cute, quality, and holds a lot of seed — but very heavy once filled. Recommend attaching to a POST not a hook. Gift for my mother in a nursing home. This is a very LARGE bird feeder. A caretaker hung it on a very heavy shepherd’s hook outside her window and after a blowing snow storm it was soon on the ground and the large in-ground hook was uprooted. It is now installed on a WOOD POST. By the time you add a lot of birdseed to this feeder it becomes too heavy for the standard hook. Beware.

  2. This feeder doesn’t work at all in wet weather! This feeder is very pretty but very badly designed – it doesn’t work at all in wet weather. It gets all clogged up and then the seed won’t descend into the trays. The only solution is to empty it out (a chore in itself since the only way to get the seed out is to turn it upside down and try to pour it out through the very limited “chimney” hole. Then you have to use a hose to blast all the gunk out, then let it seit until it dries – which takes a long time because there ar very few ways…

  3. The birds are ignoring the bird feeder. Love the feeder and have it on a pole which originally had two ordinary bird feeders on it and the birds would eat up the seeds in no time. I took one off and hung this North States V C bird feeder and loaded it with seeds but the birds won’t eat from there. They still crowd around the old bird feeder. How do I get the birds to eat from my new bird feeder? Shall I take the old one away? Other than this problem, I think the feeder is very pretty.
