Actual length is about 34″, not the 48″ advertised here I ordered two of these hooks and both were about 32-34″ long, a far cry from the 48″ advertised. There is a much sturdier 36″ hook by Green Esteem that I’d recommend over these, because the screw-in joints could be a weak point and they fit together a little crooked, making this hook appear not quite straight. Extended Deck Hook for other reason Believe it or not I ordered the Extended Deck Hook for the hose on my CPAP machine. I mounted the “Hook”, on the back of my beds headboard to aid in the path of the CPAP’s hose so it can swivel back and forth as I sleep. For this purpose it works quite well. And when needed it can be removed from it’s mount and replaced very easy. It works for me !
This is a sturdy, well made product This is a sturdy, well made product. When you screw the rods together, the end is perpendicular to the mount.However, this is not squirrel proof. Squirrels easily climb along the rod.
