.Eh… nice in theory This did not do what I wanted it to. Tried to hang an 8inch potted plant from it and it bent right over and almost dropped to the floor two stories below my balcony. I guess if I was hanging something light like a much smaller plant or perhaps something as simple as a wind chime it would work. Also, the tightening mechanism/screw didnât seem to want to stay tight. When I had it up, I felt like I had to continually tighten the grip on the handrail. Iâm going to keep it and see if I can find…
Great, but mind the nut. Only thing to mention (and it’s actually pretty obvious, I just didn’t think about it) is that it’s not actually 2 inches of clearance, it’s 2 inches less ~1/4 inch, to account for the nut on the end of the screw. This is actually shown (kind of) in the picture, but there you go. Luckily the location I put it in turned out to be ok with 1.75 inches clearance.
Good product…. but measure the inside of your rail top. I ordered two of the hooks for the deck of our new house. They came on time and packaged appropriately. The material and workmanship of the hooks is great! The top of our deck rail has only about an inch hangover where the hook is supposed to attach. Unfortunately that is not enough space to attach the clamp safely but the other side has plenty of room for the substantial clamp to attach to. I bought two hooks and found that by attaching the hooks to the outside of the rail top (which has…
