birds love it If you were wondering, It’s actually porcelain, not rubber.There are two tiny drain holes on the bottom. Good idea, but they could have made more or made them bigger. Mine gets clogged up with soggy food immediately. It does get gummed up quicker than my other bird feeders, requires cleaning more often. But a great idea and the birds really do love it. Squirrel loved it I thought this idea was great…a miniature tire swing for the birds. The only animal interested in this is/was my squirrel. I hung it far enough away from tree and low enough from the branch yet he chewed the rope off, ate all the seeds and took the entire rope (probably 5-6 ft) up to his nest. I’m sure he has the best nest in town considering he also took the moss from my hanging plant too, but unless you want to provide bedding materials to critters, I would think wire would be better to…
For our birds! This is nostalgically cute! (As youngsters we had a swing made from a tire.) I did reinforce the “rope”with wire, but only because we have a raccoon who makes night visits and has a tendency to take bird seed, feeder, and all! I just can’t let him steal this one; I love it. I hung it out this morning, and I see a bird eating from it right now.
