Makes for a busy backyard! This is a solidly built birdbath. With the optional base, it is sturdy and heavy enough not to be knocked over by the wind, at least so far. We’ve had up to 60 mph winds. It does keep the water warmer than it really needs to be, although that hasn’t deterred the birds from using it. But the water does evaporate fairly quickly. GREAT PRODUCT, YOUR BIRDS WILL THANK YOU. Excellent product. Had wanted to buy one for a couple of years, but finally did it. The expense is well worth it. It took the birds a week or so before they were comfortable with it. I have now used this product throughout the entire winter. At the very coldest, when wind chills were down around -25 to -30, the very outer edges of the water would get slightly crystallized with ice. The birds absolutely love it. My only bit of advice is to ensure that you locate any finch thistle type…
The birdbath to chose This heated bird bath is a replacement for the same kind I have had for many years. My old one was slowly “aging” but still in good condition. That is, until a racoon climbed on it and broke it off my railing. My birds are very happy with this bird bath all year. Even in the early spring I had a robin sitting on its edge getting a little warmth. Love it!
